Welcome to St. Mark's Green Page!
Thanks for visiting St. Mark's Green Page. This site is still under construction, and will be maintained by the Stewardship Committee. Its purpose is to support our members' commitment of resources to Christ's Ministry. Please contact us with any questions, suggestions or comments at stmarksgreenteam@gmail.com .
A Greener St. Mark's!
Recycle - There are paper recycling receptacles in the narthex, FLC, office and choir room. There is a recycling shed behind the FLC for plastic bottles and cans.
Lights - Turn them off --- when you are the last one leaving a room or building, or any time natural light is enough. Be especially conscious of bathrooms!
Conserve – Print on both sides of paper. Don’t use more supplies than necessary. Don’t run more water than necessary (water fountains?!).
Thermostat – Our thermostats are already programmed for maximum efficiency, so the best thing to do is leave them alone! However, sometimes it may be necessary to adjust room temperature for a meeting or special event. If you do adjust the thermostat, make certain that you change it back to the original setting before you leave. Letting the heat/air run when it’s not needed is the source of great waste. Please help us avoid unnecessary waste and cost!
Reuse – Reusing clothing and appliances is a great way to reduce waste. If there’s no one around who can use your old items, you can always donate used but still usable items to the Mooresville Christian Mission or other charitable institution.
Reduce – The Age of Electronics has given us some beautiful opportunities to reduce paper usage. Sign up to have your offering electronically drafted from your account, or ask to receive communications via email.
